Who Is Bold Creations?

Who am I? Well my name is Amanda. I am a 27 year old wife and mother of 3 who just enjoys playing with makeup. I love pushing myself to become better and to inspire those who follow me. I have always had a passion for makeup, but recently started getting more into back in 2012. Since the I have grown so much ( I think) as far as finding myself and finding what it is that I really love. Makeup, to me, is not a hobby but a way for one to express themselves without worrying about what others may think. It allows you to be anyone you want if only for a few minutes. Yes there will be times when you feel like you are the best or your looks really suck, but no one is perfect and there is always time and room to grow. I learn so many new things each day I go to put on my face, that it really amazes me. I learn new techniques and what works from, but best of all I learn from my mistakes and how to be better at what it is I am trying to accomplish. When I started my page I never thought I would be where I am or have so many lovely people following me. It is so amazing to read post from others saying how much I  inspire them that it makes me want to be better. Yes I do have some who try to knock me down and make me out to be a bad person, but I have learned to look past them and keep on doing what I love and that is Make Up. People will do anything and everything can to make you feel bad, but as long as you love what you do and are happy with who you are then thats all that matters. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way <3 I hope you all enjoyed this little insight. If you have any question or suggestions of what you would like to see me post on my blog feel free to leave it in the comment section below :) Have a great day.

Vixen Minerals Review

Hello Peeps :) So today in my mailbox I received this amazing package from the wonderful Laura over at Vixen Minerals. I was honestly shocked when I got this because her and I had a conversation about sending me some new lipsticks to try out but I was not expecting all the extras. In the package I got 6 beautiful lipsticks, 2 jars of lip gloss, 9 samples of her eye shadows, and 6 gel eyeliners. And let me just say that they are all awesome...!!!!

Th photo below is of the gel liners that she sent me :) I love the colors and texture. They are super creamy and so easy to apply. Starting from left to right is black, a dark green, brown, gold, and dark purple. These can also be used as a good base for your eye shadow as well.

Next is the swatches of some sample eye shadows that she had sent as well. So gorgeous, don't you think ? I really love everything about these colors. They are super pigmented and also very easy to apply and blend. Again starting from left to right you have Tammy, Casnada, Katlyn, Cynthia, Sheila, Veronica, Chelsea, Kathrine, and Marianne. Its so hard for me to choose my favorite because they all are AMAZING...!!!

Overall I am very satisfied with the products I received from Vixen minerals and cannot wait to start playing with and creating some looks :) I hope you all like this review. I also hope that is was very helpful and informative. If you have any more questions or concerns about this company and the products please feel free to comment below :)

What To Say. . .

Hello my Loves <3 I hope you all are having a great day/night. I have been trying to think of ways to bring in more traffic to my page as well as to my blog and I honestly do not know where to begin. Also, I have been such a horrible blogger. I have been thinking of what to blog about but the truth is I have nothing : ( Makeup hauls would be a great things to start doing, and probably what I should have been doing ever since I started this blog, but for some reason I haven't.
What to do???
Well I guess I can start by saying thank you to everyone who has subscribed and who remains active on here as well as my Facebook page. It truly means a lot to me to have such wonderful people in my life. Your words are so encouraging and inspiring. You all make me want to do better and become a better makeup artist, I just hope that I do not let you all down. I know some of you are probably reading this and saying "She is just saying this to keep us to stay" or "She doesn't mean any of this" but the truth is I mean all of it. I have met some great and wonderful ladies/gentlemen since starting my journey and I hope to get to know a lot more...!! You are the ones that keep me going, that keep me motivated and I will always and forever be grateful.

Star Crushed Minerals Review Pt 2

Hello My Sweets. So a few days ago I received these amazing new pigments from Star Crushed Minerals. WOW...!!!
I am so in love with this company :) As you can see the colors are gorgeous and so pigmented that you don't have to use a lot of product to get the look you want to create. I am honestly so overwhelmed that words cant begin to express how grateful and honored I am to be a part of her journey. She really delivers great products and the time she puts into her packaging really shows how compassionate she is about her work as well as those who receives her products. I am so lucky to be a promoter and cannot wait to create more looks using these pigments. Like any shadow you purchase you can expect a little fallout but dont worry its not going to make you waste any :) I really hope you all get a chance to try some. I honestly think you ill fall in love too.

Here is the swatches I did on the new colors I received.
Top (left to right)-Jade Sunrise, Golden Mustard, Yellow Brick Road, Sunrise, California Poppy, Skittles, Candy Apple Red, Aqua, Deep Ocean Blue, Superman, Electric Blue

Bottom (left to right)- Royal Purple, Orchid, Purple People Eater, Chocolate Cupcake, Fire Opal Black, Electric Lime, Avocado, Key Lime
Like I said, AMAZING...!!! And the names of these are so cute. I think my favorite name is the Purple People Eater hahah. Seriously how cute is that? I hope that this review was somewhat helpful. If you have any questions please feel free to post below in the comment section :)

For this look I used StarCrushedMinerals Eye primer, Orchid, Aqua, and Skinning Dipping

Pin-Up Inspired

Hello my sweets :) This look here is inspired by the famous pin-up styles that seem to be a big thing again. I really had a lot of fun creating this look especially my lips. I think that red just might be the color for me. There are so many ways to create a pin-up look, this was just the route that worked best for me. Although the blending was a bit of pain I still managed to pull it off. lol.
So to create this look I started off with my brows. I filled them in using my Urban Decay Black Palette taking the shade Black Dog and a small angle brush to create the shape I wanted to my brows to be. After filling, I then took my HD concealer from NYX and concealed them giving my brows a more sharper edge.
For my eyes I started off by applying a piece of tape to the edge so I could create that perfect line. I covered the entire lid using my jumbo pencil in milk also from NYX and blending it up into my crease and right below my lashes. Using my BH Cosmetics 88 Tropical Matte palette I used the light golden brown shade and started from the tape applying inwards and blending it out to give it a transitional look. Then went in with a shade darker to the crease to make it more define. Using Black Dog from Urban Decay I applied it to the outer corner and slightly blending it onto the brown to give it more of a dramatic look. I then applied my eyeliner creating my wing and also applied it to the water line.
My lips.! For my lips I used Milani's lipstick in Red Label #05 and applied it all over my lips filling them in to get the look I was really wanting to achieve. Next using my red glitter I bought from a craft store and my Sally's glue adhesive, I applied the glitter all over the lipstick giving the lips a little more sparkle :)
I hope this was helpful to you <3

Before and After

Hello my Sweets. So this blog is basically me giving myself credit on how much I feel I have improved as a makeup artist in just little over a year. The picture above is a leopard print look I did. the one on the left was done in April of 2012 and the right was done June 2013. When I first started really getting into my makeup I wasn't really sure what I was doing (as you can see) lol. I was just a girl having fun not worrying about how it looked. Today I am so amazed and proud on how far I have come. Not only is the look better but I have learned how to blend and master eyeliner which was always the hardest part for me back then.

The look below is a glitter look I created. And like above the one on the left was from June 2012 and the right was from July 2013. When I first started my glitter looks I was unaware on the proper steps to follow on how to get the perfect look. I had a great conversation with the love Cecile from GlitterGirlC who not only inspired me with the glitter brows, but also encouraged me by giving great and helpful tips on how to improve my looks. I was so honored and happy to have her assistance. She was so sweet and gave such great advice that now I can create the looks without them looking so crazy haha.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog. Always believe in yourself and do not be afraid to ask for help if you think you need it :)

Glitter Reviews..!!!!

Hello my Sweet Creations :)
So a few days ago I was out doing some shopping and I came across these glitters at Michael's. Now I know there are some people who might not agree with using glitters bought from craft stores to create looks with, but to me I look at it as a to each its own kinda thing. The ones I bought (pictured above) are specifically designed for face and body. They might not be the top name brands that most people would recommend but who says everything has to be name brand. I honestly love these and the colors are so amazing and they are very easy to use. They are also ultra fine so they have a soft feel to them which is awesome because it doesn't hurt my skin/

These pictures here (above and below) are just some examples of a couple of looks I created using my "craft store" glitters. Like I said I love them. They look exactly like the ones you can buy at other places except these do not cost as much. Maybe one day I might breakdown and buy some of the other brands but for now these are my favorite. I will be working on more looks soon using different colors, until then I hope you enjoyed this review and if you have any questions or concerns please comment below and I will be sure to respond back as quickly as possible.

Q&A

Hello to all my sweet creators. So this blog is going to be based on questions that you all may have for me. I will try to answer these questions the best I can without confusing you all too much :) Hope this is helpful to you all.If you have more questions please leave them in the comment section and I will post answers as soon as possible.

Q-Is there something that can make the shadow stay on without traveling to my crease? A- I would love to say yes to this but sadly all primers that I have used do that no matter the brand. It could also be too that you lids may tend to get a bit oily and that can also make your shadow travel. I have noticed that when I use my setting spray it tends to last a little bit longer but by the end of the day because my lids tend to get oily it smears in the crease a little. So I would definitely try that to see how it works :)

Q-Which eye base is best? A-Personally I love to use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. It really makes the colors pop and stand out more than the other brands. It is very easy to use and doesn't cost too much.

Q-What are your remedies for chapped lips? A-Wow this one is really hard because I have been battling that for the longest. I try to keep my lips moist as much as possible throughout the day especially when I am in the sun. Also too when I wash my face I like to use a little bit of the face wash on lips and gently scrub them with a damp cloth to try and remove some of the dry skin.

BH Cosmetics Hollywood Palette

Hello my sweet creators :) So here is the Hollywood palette from BH Cosmetics. As of right now I am a little unsure about how I feel about this one. The colors are great as you can see from the swatches below, but there are a few that tend to be a tad bit hard to apply. I dunno maybe I am not using the right primer or something who knows lol . But for the price you cant beat it. Not to mention the pretty blushes that comes with the palette.

My camera gives these colors no justice at all :( The top shows all of the blues, greens, purples, and yellow. I believe that so far that lime green color and the yellow are my tow fav. As for the bottom I am really digging that pink (third from left ) and the one and the end (on the right) Those two colors are really pretty and very pigmented .
As of right now I have not created any looks with these colors but plan on doing one very soon. I hope that this review was somewhat helpful to you all. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Star Crushed Minerals

Hello beauty lovers. So Star Crushed Minerals. Let me just say this. I LOVE THEM...!!!! I recently got these amazing shadows and blush a couple of days ago and I quickly have fell in love with. The colors are amazing and so highly pigmented. Although some tend to have fallout (as so do others) I honestly cannot find anything wrong with them. They also have their own primer which too is awesome. I can say however that the primer feels a  little more on the oily based side but it works great and is so easy to use. I think my favorite colors so far would have to be Orange Poppy and Skinning Dipping. Oh and the Blush in Merlot is also great. Though when using it I would strongly recommend that you use very little until you get use to it because like I said they are very pigmented. Other than that I would so recommend these to any and everyone.

For this look I used Skinny Dipping, Blueberry, Black Hills Gold, Pomegranate, and Black Amethyst on the eyes. And for the blush I used Merlot :)

Long Time Coming

Hello Dolls. OMG it has been forever since I have updated this thing. lol. Well that is all about to change so I hope you all are ready :) I have been really busy working on some new looks and putting together some giveaways. Also I am now a promoter for the lovely Star Crushed Minerals (so excited) so I will be posting some reviews and swatches as well to the blog. A lot of new things to come so I am hoping that you all will stick with me while I get everything caught up. Well that is all for now. Hope you all have a great day :)

P.S In the look above I used my BH Cosmetics 88 Cool Matte Palette and NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk along with E.L.F's Gel liner in brown to create this soft summer look great for going out .

Red Eye Shadow

I love looks using red eye shadow. However it has been really hard for me to find a great base that would make the red really stand out. As you can see in the pic above the only thing that seemed to work the best was Milani's Red Label Lipstick. It worked better than Urban Decay's Primer potion and NYX's Jumbo pencil in Milk (which I thought was crazy ).But hey thats life :) So the next time you try a look using red eye shadow try using a bright red lipstick as the base. Be sure to blend it out like you would if it was any other primer and the apply the shadow. It works wonders..!!!

Products I Love :)

BRUSHES...!!! The only brushes I use to create my looks are those by E.L.F. Not only are these brushes amazing but you can get them at great prices. I mean seriously I spend 1 to 3 bucks on each brush and they work just as good if not better than those 20 dollar brushes I mean how awesome is that :)

GLITTER GEMS AND EYELINER...!!!
These glitters are actually from the Red Carpet Manicure Set, however I love using these to create fun looks. I also use glitter glue from Sally's to apply the glitter and eyelash glue to apply the gems. The Curve by @NYX Cosmetics is in one word AMAZING! It creates the best lines and is so easy to use. The Gel Liner also from NYX is really good to use to create the dramatic cut crease looks that are becoming my fav.

EYE SHADOWS LASHES FOUNDATION AND MORE...!!!
As everyone knows my all time favorite eye shadow to use BH Cosmetics. The colors are simply stunning and all palettes are really inexpensive. I own the 120 palette 1st edition, 88 cool matte palette, and the 88 tropical palette. They all have sooo many colors to chose from and the color combinations are endless :) I also like to use the NYX Foundation. It makes my skin look flawless with again a very reasonable price. My ALL TIME FAVORITE product out of all of this is the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. It is the best thing to use when trying to get your colors to really stand out. I also like to use CoverGirl, Maybelline, and I also have some Urban Decay (although the palette I do have by them is not what I thought it was gonna be) The Black Palette is great to create dramatic smokey eyes...

Anyways, I hope this blog was useful in trying to get the looks you want or just in case you wanted to know what I liked :)

Dramatic Teal

So for this look I was going for something a little more dramatic. I recently bought some really cool rhinestones that I thought would make this look just stand out more. Although the lighting in the room was horrible I thought the picture still was great :)

I always love making statements with my eyes and this one I think did the job :) I will have a list of all the products I used to create this look listed below. Hope you enjoy and if you have any questions please feel free to ask <3

  • NYX Gel Eyeliner in Black
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  • Maybelline Mascara
  • BH Cosmetics 120 Palette
  • Red Carpet Gems
